Wash day, wash day. We haven’t gotten a washer/dryer for the camper yet, so as long as Tony wants to go to laundromat and pay $40 in quarters, I guess he will. We are actually going to Missoula next week to take a look at some, so hopefully we will be able to take care of that here.

Lazy morning. Went to Kalispell after lunch. Picked up some Montana Trader Glacier flavored coffee – eat your hearts out Tommy & Megan! They didn’t have it by the pound, so when we go to Whitefish by the main store, we will get you some. I had an appt. with a massage therapist I saw here 4 years ago – she was very good. I called to make an appt. and she remembered me. She has started doing shiatsu now – Oh my gosh – my legs and knees don’t hurt and I feel the best today that I have felt. I will see her on a regular basis. Stopped at Norm’s News – an old time drug store with a soda shop. They are known to carry more magazines than any other store in the US. We got a drink there and then headed home.

After morning coffee, called both orthopedic clinics. One is out of network, but can see me in August and the other doesn’t have an opening until October. Got to work on this situation. To Kalispell again – more errands. Tony wheeled me around in Office Depot and Walmart. Had lunch at MacKenzie River Pizza Company, and then we had a major catastrophe – a moose encounter. Out of nowhere, a bronze colored moose just about ran over Tony.
Well, I thought that was funny. But really, as we headed home around 8:30, sun still high in the sky, there were deer EVERYWHERE! In one empty fenced in small pasture, there were 7 dear eating the ranchers grass. We turned around and went back and just watched them. They paid us absolutely no attention at all.

Had been planning to attend Lakeside Baptist Church and reunite with all our friends, but my legs hurt and I felt so bad that we ended up not being able to go. Later in the afternoon, we rode up into the Jewel Basin, which is a famous national forest area for hiking. No, I didn’t plan to hike. It was 7 1/2 miles up to the trailhead that leads to one of the most scenic sites of the valley. If you think GA roads have ruts and get washed out, you haven’t been on any of these Montana forest roads. We were going 5mph and I was having to hold on to the holdy on thing on the side of the door to keep from bouncing and hitting my head. And if you’ve ever been to Cataloochee and think that road is windy and narrow, it’s nothing compared to this one. Going up was horrible – I was scared. But coming down – I needed a tranquilizer – it was scary. Have pics – will post later – internet is super slow.

Did way too much yesterday. Slept late, then took a long nap. I am having some new MS symptoms – I’ve had some balance issues and have done PT several times, but for the past few weeks I have had the sensation of tipping over sometimes when I’m walking or standing up. And my knees and legs hurt so bad – we are calling the orthopedic doctors Monday to see if we can have the knee replacement done out here. I can’t walk anyway. I think we are going to have to use the wheelchair that we got soon. At least I can recover in a pretty place and ride around. Don’t know how I’ll make 4 steps up into the 5th wheel, then 2 up into the bedroom.

A boring, hard-working day in the home on wheels. We packed so fast the last few days that all our food was in boxes stacked in the closet for the washer/dryer, which we haven’t gotten yet. We worked all day organizing food in wicker and plastic containers in the pantry and it looks really good. Rode around Bigfork late afternoon and decided since we were out we would try the newest brewery in the Flathead – the Flathead Brewery.

Went to Kalispell to run errands. Tony dropped me off at Glacier Quilts and I visited with the ladies (and shopped). Came home through Lakeside and had supper at The Tamarack – our most favorite restaurant in the whole area. 1/2 order of nachos and 1 chicken enchiladas to share. Yum!
A few more pictures from the day around Kalispell and Lakeside.

Oh – to sleep late and not have to move the camper! Did some nesting in the camper and rested and just looked at the beautiful mountains!
